SyncMarkr

Privacy

SyncMarkr records markers, not footage. This page describes the app as it is being built; it will be updated before release if anything here changes.

Last updated 16 August 2026.

Your video never leaves your device

SyncMarkr does not upload, copy, or transmit video. Footage stays on your camera card and on the device you imported it to. There is no video storage on our servers, and no feature that would put it there.

When the app records that a camera file exists, it stores only what it needs to line markers up against it: the file name, its start timecode, how long it runs, and its frame rate.

Why the app uses your camera

SyncMarkr reads timecode from your camera’s monitor. You aim the device at the display and the app recognises the digits so it can start its own clock at the same instant.

Those frames are processed on your device, in the moment, only to read the digits. They are not recorded, not saved, and not transmitted anywhere. The app does not use the camera at any other time.

What is stored in your account

If you sign in, the following syncs so your work reaches your other devices:

The app works without an account. If you never sign in, none of this leaves your device.

What is never collected

Where it is stored

Account data is held on Supabase, on servers in the United States. Access is restricted to your own account by database-level policies, so one account cannot read another’s data.

Who it is shared with

Nobody. Data is not sold, rented, or handed to third parties for their own use. The only companies who touch it are the ones running the infrastructure it sits on, acting on our instructions.

Deleting your data

Email support@syncmarkr.com from your account’s address to export or delete everything stored for your account. Deleting your account does not touch anything on your device or your cards.

Children

SyncMarkr is a tool for camera operators and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date above changes with it and the app will say so.
